Ep #214: Politicians Behaving Badly
In this episode, I tackle the troubling issue of politicians behaving badly.
While it's easy to dismiss this as something they always do, I’m particularly frustrated with how blatant this bad behaviour has become.
What makes it worse is that we, the public, have elected these politicians and yet we treat them as if they’re above us. It’s time to stop treating them like demigods and remember that they are our servants, not the other way around.
The increase in information over the years has made us more aware of the frequent misconduct of politicians. However, simply knowing isn't enough—we need to create better and more effective systems to hold them accountable.
From Australia's Senate inquiry into excess deaths C-19 jabs, to the Victorian economy’s financial chaos under former premier Daniel Andrews, politicians have consistently failed us.
In Victoria, reckless spending and astronomical debt are pushing the state into financial ruin, benefiting only a small elite while burdening everyone else. This mirrors global trends where governments have aligned with big business, leading to the decimation of the middle class and dangerous increases in government overreach.
The wealth accumulation of politicians, like Daniel Andrews and Nancy Pelosi, is another pressing issue. Politicians enter public office with modest means, but many leave as multi-millionaires. This should make us question whether they are truly representing our interests or lining their own pockets.
I also discuss Australia’s new Misinformation and Disinformation Bill, which aims to silence free speech by allowing the government to define what’s true. This legislation is an attack on our fundamental freedoms, and I urge everyone not to comply if it becomes law.
The influence of Big Pharma on politicians is another dangerous example of how our system is being manipulated.
Ultimately, I challenge you to ask yourself: what are you passionate about, and what are you willing to do to stop these abuses? If we don’t take action, we are part of the problem. We are each personally responsible for the future of our respective states and nations.
We are NOT accountable, but we ARE responsible!
