Ep #207: How To Craft Your Financial Plan Without A Financial Planner

Season 1 Episode 207

In this week's episode, I delve into the complexities of financial planning, drawing from my extensive background as a lawyer and businessman. I discuss the evolution of the financial planning industry and how the increasing complexity has made it difficult for people to find competent financial planners. Many experienced professionals have left the industry due to over-regulation, leaving consumers struggling to find reliable advice.

I argue that to craft an effective financial plan, you need to develop a solid life philosophy. This philosophy should guide your decisions on various aspects such as your lifespan expectations, your attitude towards problems, your willingness to learn, and your approach to risk. I encourage you to embrace challenges, as they keep your mind sharp and help you adapt to life’s uncertainties.

I also highlight the importance of diversifying your assets, being cautious with debt, and preparing for potential global system failures. I urge you to shift from a defensive mindset to one that embraces life and its opportunities.

One of my favourites concepts is that the safest place for a ship is a harbour; but that's NOT the purpose of a ship, to just stay safe!

Similarly, it's not the purpose of men and women, to just stay safe!!

On this week’s TNT Radio Show, I interview Tom Ballantyne Jr., an author of 19 books who exposes the horrors of child trafficking in his book Let Freedom Ring. We discuss the shocking realities of this global issue and the involvement of powerful individuals in these crimes. I also recommend David Rogers Webb's book The Great Taking, which is available for free and offers insights into a nefarious plot through digitisation of assets in today’s world.

I hope this episode inspires you to take better control of your financial future and to choose to live life on your own terms.
